Hi--- I have a Lionel prewar O guage locomotive # 252 that needs the wheels replaced. I have the wheels but not a clue how to go about replaceng the them. Are they pressed on and can they be removed by tapping a wedge between the wheel and the motor? Any help/instructions or a web site where I can go for this information will be appreciated. Hi Larry. I don't know how-to either; but i wouldn't use a wedge. You need what is called a "wheel-puller", which is a device to remove wheels from the axles. A parts dealer may have one. Good luck.
