I just looked over on the BIG (e-bay) BOYS site,
and found a guy that was selling a "Complete N-scale layout" after reading the ad carefully the layout included Two loops of track with a yard and engine area.
NO Engines / No Cars / not even a power pack.
now i know that building these thing take time out of your life, BUT me and one other guy did the sametype of layout at one of the local meets in two days. and we even thru in a cheap loco, four cars, and a ElCheapo pack and it was given away to some lucky kid via door prise ticket. we had fun! the kid got a train set andit did cost us $150 to do it. this is a hobby! and when someone starts taking peoples money they should think of that. try to encourge new growth.
invite people in and talk TO the kids.
