Questions for a Prewar collector

I have a few questions here regarding the 259E 2-4-2 Loco.

1)Is the gray 259E scarcer than the black one?

2)Did the gray 259E come with a 259T, 1689T, or 1689W?

3)Will a gray 259E in EX condition command a premium on the prewar market?

4)What is the difference between 259 and 259E other than the years they were manufactured?

Re: Questions for a Prewar collector

1.GRAY AND BLACK LIST THE SAME IN THE PRICE BOOKS SO I GUESS IT IS A TOSS UP/NO DIFF IN VALUE BETWEEN GRAY AND BLACK

2.GUNMETAL 259E ONLY THESE TENDERS, 1689T AND 2689T MFG 1936-1938

3.BOOK LISTS BOTH BLACK AND GRAY AT ABOUT $150

4.259=BLACK ONLY AND 259T TENDER ONLY, NOT IN GRAY AND NO E UNIT MFG 1932 ONLY

259E=="E" INDICATES HAS E UNIT IN THIS CASE SAME "E" AS IN POST-WAR IE DRUM/PLUNGER AND SOLENOID

I DO PRE-WAR RESTORATIONS RE-PLATING AND HAVE PARTS NEW AND USED

I REQUEST NO MONEY UP FRONT FOR RESTORATION WORK, PAYMENT UPON COMPLETION.

AT WHICH TIME I E-MAIL PICS OF THE COMPLETED RESTORATION PROJECT.

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!!!
