2007 is not like 2006

Perhaps it is because I had my 86th birthday last month but I put thumbnails to large on my site last year but when I just tried to add one it came up as a Red X.
Anyone able to solve the problem

Re: 2007 is not like 2006

The couple that I tested were working OK

Do you mean that an existing one is now broken or is the problem in adding a new one?

Re: Re: 2007 is not like 2006

I tried a new one on the 1940 page.

Re: 2007 is not like 2006

This is what I tried

Re: 2007 is not like 2006

As I am getting nowhere would someone be good enough to give me the full entry. The large Image is Seret 1 and the thumbnail Secret 1a

Re: 2007 is not like 2006

First of all, Happy Birthday!

The code you are trying to use on the 1940s page is

I don't know what happened here. Looks a bit like a botched cut and paste job where you accidentally dropped the bit of code you were moving or deleting in the middle of the image code

If you try

It should work. If you had an image named Secret1.jpg in that directory, which it seems you don't. The filenames you posted here have spaces in them, so that was probably a typo. Perhaps you made more than one?

Re: 2007 is not like 2006

Thanks for the effort but it didn't work. I notice you ommitted bravehost.com/ which I had in the ones I got on site last year.
Tiredness means I will have to wait until morning to try it with that added.

Re: 2007 is not like 2006

Why, so I did. Well, I just copied the code I found on the 1940s page, and edited out the bits that were obviously wrong. Explains why I couldn't find the image anywhere, doesn't it? The image's correct location is:
http://ronrainford.bravehost.com/myPictures/Secret%201.jpg
and there is a thumbnail at:
http://ronrainford.bravehost.com/myPictures/Secret%201a.jpg

Re: 2007 is not like 2006

So if you were trying to link those two, the code should be

Brilliant mate. Thanks a lot.
Can't understand why it would be so very different than those I used before.
Found a couple of tutorials that conflicted in their advice and neither worked.
You should set up a business providing translations of the sytem.
Once again many thanks.

Re: 2007 is not like 2006

I'm ready to go to the madhouse. After successfully using your code I tried to put another photo on. Copied and pasted the code to a word document. Changed only the name of the Pic then copied and pasted to web page. Result was again the famous Red X. I'm obviously missing something but what.

Re: 2007 is not like 2006

Two suggestions:
Don't ever involve Word in creating webpages. In fact, if you are copying text from a Word document, it is a good idea to paste it into Notepad first, and thencopy and paste from Notepad to your editor.

But that has nothing to do with the problem you have right now, though. Which brings me to my second suggestion: Don't mess about with spaces in file names. Bravehost actually is able to deal with that, unlike most servers. Means you will have to do a lot of renaming if you decide to move.

But it is very, very confusing. In this case, the filename is:
Platoon%201%20a.jpg while you have:
%20Platoon1%201a.jpg

I think it would be easier if you named your files something sensible like
platoon1a.jpg

Re: 2007 is not like 2006

Thanks again for your help. I know the importance of every dot in an email address apparently it is even more important with web informatio.

I'll have to do a bit of experimenting if I do any more.
