Password protection giving me a real headache - and so is the rest of the site.

I must just not be getting this at all.

First off>I have created a password protection for my site through that free thing offered... but it is on the first page and if one doesn't chose to "log in" they can still access any aspect of my site that they want by clicking on the links under the login. How does one make a family site password protected? I don't want random strangers reading our schedual, seeing my DD's pictures, or knowing about the personal info that I will be posting in my journal for FAMILY to read.

Second question> I feel like I am creating 2 completely different websites b/c half the time i get stuck in this very technical section (which I can't seem to alter anything in ) and then the "wizard" section of it where I can change somethings but I keep getting out of and lost trying to get back. How do y'all keep it straight? WHat does the difficult stuff do - I have altered some of it but it seems to make no difference?

I am SOOOO confused. I have wasted a whole day and I feel like I have gotten NO where.

What you need to do if you are using the password gat to password protect pages on your site is to NOT provide links to those pages anywhere else.
