Loads of other "free" web hosts. All get paid for the advertising that they display on your site. Some are a lot more intrusive than others. Geocities ads are about the least intrusive but their support is nowhere near up to Bravenet's standard.

Loads of free editors out there too. Some are WYSIWYG while others expect you to enter the HTML tags yourself. I use a free editor called CSE Validator Lite which is one of the latter type and which will colour code my source and also validate it for me before I upload it to my site.
