Greetings Members of the 28th NCT!
The 28th NCT has the honor of being the host reenacting unit for the Yadkin Gray Eagle sponsored
Yadkin County Confederate Memorial Day Service
Saturday May 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM
The Yadkin Gray Eagles Camp #1765 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans invites ya'll to particpiate in a special Confederate Memorial Day
observance at the Yadkinville Cemetery in Yadkinville, N.C.
Several Veterans of Confederate and NC Militia & Home Guard service are buried there:
Private Isom C. Cook – 1st Battalion NC Sharpshooters Co. A
Private Isaac Shores Jr. – 38th NCT Co. B (his wife is buried here but he is buried at Deep Creek Baptist Chruch)
Private Anderson Douglas – 28th NCT Co. F
Corpotal James N. Marler – 28th NCT Co. F
1st Lt. Richmond Murphy Gabard – 75th Reg. 19th Brig. NC Militia
2nd Lt. Leonard Davis Kelly – 75th Reg. 19th Brig. NC Militia
Private William Reynolds – 75th Reg. 19th Brig. NC Militia
Corporal John H. James – 1st Battalion NC Junior Reserve Co. E
The stories of these Confederate Veterans will be shared as 2014 marks another year of the 150th Anniversary of the War Between the States.
Local musicians, Danny & Eva Casstevens will provide plenty of heart warming period music for the occasion.
War Between the States re-enactors will honor Confederate Veterans from Yadkin County with a special period volley salute.
Refreshments will be served immediately following the service.
Directions from Yadkinville: Travel north from US 421 on US 601 for about 2 miles. Turn left at Main St. and go west on Main St. for .3 miles, then turn right on Jefferson St. Then go .1 mile and turn left on Hemlock, then an immediate right on Cemetery St. and go another .1 mile and park at the back of the cemetery.

Also wanted to mention that you'lll need to be there by 1:00pm for inspection.
