The Yadkin Gray Eagles - Camp 1765 of the Sons of Confederate Veterans invites you all to particpate in its annual

Yadkin County Confederate Memorial Day Service again this year.

This year it will be held at the Boonville Cemetery on Saturday May 11th at 2pm.

Stan Clardy will be there to play period music for us, and I will try to highlight service of these veterans, with emphasis on Chancellorsville and Gettysburg

as part of our ongoing Sesquicentinial observance.

Refreshments will be served immediately following the service.



Your presence is very much appreciated to help salute the 25 Confederate Veterans buried there who served in North Carolina Regiments or Militia.

No cemetery in Yadkin County has more!

Our goal is to have at least 25 re-enactors present to answer the roll call for each of these men.

This cemetery is very special for the 28th NCT, as there are 10 men from the unit buried there, with 7 from Co. I, 1 from Co. F, 1 from Co. B, and 1 from Co. K.

Captain Bohannon of Co. I is also buried there. He took over the Company when Captain Speer was to moved the staff of the Regiment.

Directions from Yadkinville: Travel north from US 421 on US 601 for about 9 miles. Turn left on Baptist Church Road and go a tenth of a mile to the cemetery.
