"10 December 2012: The Battle of Fredericksburg Commemoration Committee would like to say THANK YOU to the thousands of participants, volunteers, spectators, and townspeople who made our two-year effort a rousing success. We’ve been overwhelmed by the tide of admiring comments from all corners — we are gratified to have had your cooperation and support in commemorating the historic battle and most importantly, the human lives that experienced the Fire on those fateful days exactly 150 years ago. We deeply appreciate everyone’s support and patience –and wet feet in some cases — as we made our envisioned commemorative reenactment a reality. Huzzah!"
