Horne Creek Farm October 19-20

Gentlemen,
This coming Saturday October 20th,Horne Creek Farms will be having it's annual Corn Shucking event at Horne Creek Farms in Pinnacle,NC.
The 38th North Carolina has attended this event in for the past several years and had a great time..This year marks a great change for us and the farm..We will have a state safety officer on site, allowing us for the first time to actually FIRE!!!!!!!!
People seem to have a curiosity as to what we actually do,but when you fire your muskets.they get a better understanding....
With the battle of Boone Hall in our upcoming future, this will be an excellent time to "Drill", and drill we shall....
Starting with the basics of hand and foot placement, and starting off marching with the left foot forward.....
We will be counter- marching, company as well as counter marching while on the move and ect....
We will be having breakfast in camp Saturday morning consisting of pancakes(johnny cakes) sausage and orange juice, $3.00...the good people at the farm will provide lunch..

I will have caps and powder as needed.....
Gentlemen we will be firing, and plenty
Set up will be Friday afternoon and evening....Come on out and get the full effect by camping at the farm..a wonderful experience.....
Bring you something to snack on if you like, bring extra socks and an extra blanket.
Temperatures Friday will be 72 high and 45 low Saturday will be around 65 excellent weather for drilling....

With 2 more great battles left for this year,Charleston and Goldsboro bridge, this would be an excellent time to drill the kinks out and go out to these battles and perform as only the 28th and 38th North Carolina can.
What a way for a Captain to go out....Come on out boys and lets make some memories...
All members of the 28th who wish to attend are invited to participate...

In your service,
