Gentlemen,
After a week of trying to download videos from Fort Macon,I finally seceded... Go to You Tube and type in 28 & 38th NC 150th Fort Macon

Yes, Lt Cheek did an excellent job leading the best company with the acknowledged best volleys in the entire Federal Army!

...but what about that gallant Brevet Major John Baucom, leading the right wing of that army??? Where is the video record of his heroic actions???

The event was beyond words for me but will try to add some intelligent comments later. I will say that I did hear the Major over the hill a few times during the afternoon battle though. It sounded as if a whole brigade was coming to our assistance.

We sure did miss Captain Baucom during the afternoon battle, but his crisp READY AAAAAAIIMMMMM FIRRRE! commands echoed not far away off the wavering dunes amid the wind crys of a sun bathed sea!
