Visited our friends with the 63rd NC Sate Troops down at Gold Hill this past Saturday. Added a rifle to the parade in the morning and to a skirmish in the afternoon. Several Yanks were captured and sent to the prison in Salisbury. A couple decided to make a run for it and were given a trip to another destination. The evening was spent eating some fine pork shoulders and fixins. Following the meal, a band provided music for the soldiers and their ladies.
