As you can see, the ANV voted to do the Carolinas Campaign, so it will be a much bigger reenactment than the last time we did it. We must register NOW if we want to be included. Please contact our fightin' adjutant TODAY if you'd like to go with us.

One thing we should note: the Raid on Rockford is the week before the Carolinas Campaign, March 4-6.

Here is a link I found for the 147th Anniversary Battle of New Market that will be held on May 13-15. Several of us have expressed an interest in going there this year.

Re: The ANV is coming back to North Carolina!

In April, several of us have expressed an interest in doing a living history program with Gen Jake Jennette up at Appomattox Courthouse, with 4th Regiment units, much like our unforgettable Gettysburg trip last year. I'm 99% sure the weekend is April 8-10. This would conflict with the Ronda Roundabout Festival that we have enjoyed the last few years. We need to talk about this at our meeting. Maybe the 63rd and 35th NCT could keep the Ronda event going for us this year...

BTW, we have been invited back to Gettysburg in August, the Fightin' Adjutant has the dates.

Allison's Woods is Sept 16-18, 2011.

Re: The ANV is coming back to North Carolina!

Actually, I believe the Appomattox event is April 16-17 (it is listed on the events at the 13th's web site). I spoke to Rex Hovey earlier this morning and he said the spots are filling-up fast (it is limited to 100). Current participants include the 11th, 13th, 18th and Gen. Jake Jennette's staff. So if we have members interested, we may want to contact the 13th prior to our company meeting.

Re: The ANV is coming back to North Carolina!

Thanks for the help on the dates, Jeff! But you're right, if we want to go we better act fast...

Re: The ANV is coming back to North Carolina!

Capt. JB - I am tentatively planning on coming down for the Drill on January 29th. I have the time off, it just depends on the weather. Count me in if we are doing the 150th Manassas.

That is AWESOME Bill! It will be great to see you at the meeting!
