Adding Sound to your Services
Some Bravenet services have an audio option built into them, like the Guestbook and E-cards, in which you just add in the url of your sound file like this: http://sample.com/example.mid Just go to the service manager and in the background or e-card sound fields type in the full url path and filename so that it points to your existing sound file on your webserver. You can also add sound to play in Bravenet services like the Message Forum and Web Journal (which dont have a built in audio option) fairly easily. Step 1: Login to your member account, and click on the Service Manager link in the Members area. Step 2: Click on the Look and Feel Editor link, and you will be sent to the main start page for the Editor. Step 3: Click on the Text tab and the text input box will open in the default Visual Editor mode. However, using the Visual Editor will not work. If you paste HTML in the Visual Editing mode, the raw code will be displayed on your page. Step 4: Click on the Code Editor tab at the top of the editor (right next to the Visual Editor tab). Step 5: Paste in the HTML code for your sound file. Here is some sample HTML code you can try: <EMBED SRC="http://sample.com/example.mid" AUTOSTART="FALSE" LOOP="FALSE" WIDTH="285" HEIGHT="45"> Replace the sample url (http://sample.com/example.mid) with the url of your sound file, Save your changes, and you are all done. Your sound file MUST be stored on a webserver that allows remote linking... just link to it there. Save your changes and you are done! Note: This will NOT work if you try to insert your HTML in the Visual Editor mode. You must click on the Code Editor side first. |
