Echo vs Etape

Could you please explain the difference between your Echo and Etape models ?

Is the Etape essentially the same as the Echo, but with a slightly longer wheelbase (2cm ?) and fittings for full sized mudguards and a rack ?

You don't specify on your website whether the Etape is constructed from plain gauge or butted tubing.

If the Etape was stripped of it's rack and mudguards and fitted with lighter wheels and narrower tyres, would it make a good road / race bike ?

Re: Echo vs Etape

Hi

The Etape has plain gauge tubes and is geared towards Audax/light touring. You could race it but the Echo would be far better suited to this having tighter more responsive geometry along with a stiffer tubeset.

Best regards
