This movie was airing on tv today, so I watched it knowing that Alice Krige had a part in it playing Patsy Cline. I guess I should have known it was a very small part when her name didn't appear in the opening credits. The film wasn't that bad, but Alice's part amounted to about 15 seconds of lip-synching a Patsy Cline song. I found this puzzling, because in a review of "Baja Oklahoma" that I once read the critic said that Alice Krige gave a better performance as Patsy Cline than Jessica Lange in "Sweet Dreams," which was an entire film about Patsy Cline's life story. Unless the tv station that aired "Baja Oklahoma" cut most of Alice's part out of the film, I'm guessing that critic must really hate Jessica Lange! |
