I came across an unexpected answer to part of your question today. As I opened the local paper, a flyer fell out for the Marco Island Film Festival. Patricia Neal will be appearing here this Saturday to receive a lifetime achievement award (in addition to a screening of the film "Hud" and a Q&A session).
So where is Marco Island and why does it have a film festival? Marco is in SW Florida (about 20 miles south of Naples), and the film festival was created by Tom Cruise's mother...who lives here. It's pretty much a non-event, but never the less, it's where Patricia Neal will be in a few days. |
